How it works

A circuit comprises of a number of stations (machines) that work different muscle groups. At each station, you perform a set of repetitions for 30-60 seconds at a medium-to-fast speed. Circuit equipment is usually arranged in a particular order so you work on your upper body at one station and lower body at the next station. This is called “shunting”.

Some gyms have their circuit operating constantly throughout the day and evening using a 30-60 second electronic timer. This is great for people who cant get to training when set classes are on.
