Volunteer Sales Person
Red Cross Shop
Support those in need across Australia and around the world by volunteering as a sales person at Manly’s Red Cross store. Volunteers will provide customer service and process sales, the proceeds of which go to the Red Cross to fund the charity’s humanitarian works. They will also be required to design window and visual merchandising displays, count donations and price sale items. Interested persons must commit to at least four hours a week of volunteer work. Volunteer Customer Service Person
North Head Sanctuary
Volunteering NSW is looking for customer service persons to join its 250-strong Sydney Harbour Trust volunteer team. Volunteers will be stationed at North Head Sanctuary and will be expected to meet and greet visitors, provide them with historic information, assist with directions, offer tours and sell merchandise. They will be placed on a roster with other volunteers, working one day a week fortnightly. Foreign language skills are highly desired, however not necessary. All volunteers are provided with a uniform and ongoing training and information sessions, as well as benefits such as inclusion in Harbor Trust events. Volunteer Administrative Assistant
St Vincent de Paul’s Community Centre
Actively assist those seeking assistance overcoming hardship by volunteering as an administration support volunteer at the Vinnies community centre. The network of support centres across Australia connects disenfranchised and disadvantaged individuals with the services of St Vincent de Paul. As an administrative assistant, you’ll welcome people seeking help and visitors to the centre, assist with admin tasks, inform those looking for assistance about Vinnies’ services and ensure the centre runs smoothly by filing, photocopying and responding to emails. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 3.5 hours per day, twice a week. Interested parties should apply via Seek.
Raise Youth Mentor
Transform the life of a young peninsula local by becoming an in-school mentoring opportunity volunteer for the Raise Foundation. Volunteers will meet their high school mentee for two hours a week during Term 2 and Term 3 to listen to their ideas, hopes and dreams and act as a source of support and wisdom. All with the available time are encouraged to apply, be they retired, a stay-at-home parent, a university student or a worker with flexible hours. Raise offer all volunteers 12 hours of free training to equip them with the skills to make a difference in the life of young person within the community. Friendly Visitor for those with MS
Belrose and Davidson
Brighten the life of an older person living with multiple sclerosis in an aged care facility by volunteering as a friendly visitor. Volunteers with MS Australia’s community visitors scheme play a vital role in for a person living with MS by offering ongoing friendship through activities such as sharing stories, taking them for a stroll or a coffee, listening to music or playing a game with them. People from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. All that is required is you are sensitive, caring and willing to commit to fortnightly visits for at least 12 months.
