Support those with intellectual disabilities
Local not-for-profit Northside Enterprise provides services to assist those with an intellectual disability to transition into employment, develop living skills and receive flexible respite. The community organisation is currently seeking new members for its management committee, which meets once a month with the CEO to bring new ideas to the table to improve and expand services. Help a senior get connected
Frenchs Forest, Manly
Forest Computer Pals is looking for volunteers to share their knowledge and assist seniors to improve their technology skills. From computers, to tablets, smartphones, and other smart devices, you will have the proficiency, patience and friendliness to inspire elderly locals to develop their confidence and give it a go. Volunteer tutors are needed to assist for a few hours a week, offering one-on-one, hour-long training sessions to senior students. For more information, email email@example.com. Keep our community COVID-safe
Northern Beaches Council
Council is asking for expressions of interest from community members willing to offer friendly encouragement to locals to stay COVID-safe this summer. You will work closely with rangers and lifeguards. No experience is required; however, volunteers must be over 18 and have a friendly disposition. Times, locations, and days are flexible, and all training will be provided. For more details and to apply, visit the Northern Beaches Council website.
Mentor local youth
Balgowlah, Cromer, Frenchs Forest, Killarney Heights, Manly Vale
Transform the life of a young Peninsula local by becoming an in-school mentor for the Raise Foundation. Volunteers will meet their high school mentee for two hours a week during Term 4 to listen to their ideas, hopes and dreams and act as a source of support and wisdom. Anyone over 21, with the available time is encouraged to apply. Cook for our community
Community Co-op Northern Beaches
Community Co-op Northern Beaches is looking for cooks to volunteer one to two hours a fortnight to make meals for those less fortunate. All ingredients will be supplied by the Co-op, and cooks are to make their meals at home before dropping them off at a site in Cromer.
