New life for surf clubs

The redevelopments of the surf clubs at Long Reef and Mona Vale are almost finished.

The Long Reef Surf Lifesaving Club will have new accessible public amenities, which are still under construction. Works will also take place on the café and outside areas.

The external areas at Long Reef will include a new BBQ area, outdoor showers, and a courtyard with tiered concrete seating and embossed images by local artist Leesa Knights.

Meanwhile, Mona Vale clubhouse will offer a fit-for-all multi-purpose facility, including a café, restaurant, nipper’s facilities, storage for the local board riders club, function space, a first aid room and family changing facilities. 

The outside areas have also had a major makeover, including new paths, landscape gardens, seating, a café pergola, and new public artworks.

Works are expected to be completed on both clubs in May 2022 for the community to enjoy.
