Community grants announced
The recipients of Northern Beaches Council’s Community, Arts and Creativity and Environmental grant program have been announced.
A record number of people applied to the 2021/22 grant program, with a total of 268 applicants.
The almost $290,000 in funding will support projects and initiatives that deliver direct benefit to the community.
Twenty applicants have been awarded an Arts and Creativity grant; 12 applicants a Community Development grant; and 10 an Environmental grant for either full or partial funding. A further five applicants have been approved for multi-year funding.
Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said all three grant programs will foster a more connected, creative and sustainable Northern Beaches.
“We have lots of talented people in our community generating significant bottom-line economic value, jobs and shared enjoyment,” Mayor Regan said.
“The Arts and Creative grant stream specifically provide vital support to the arts sector, assisting our creative people to bring to life their great ideas. This support is especially needed given the impact the pandemic has had on this sector.”
