Full refurb for Cremorne courts

The tennis courts at Primrose Park will receive a full refurbishment, with the Federal Government pledging $2,175,138 to the project.

The courts were initially built in 1985 on reclaimed landfill at the former sewage treatment site. Over time, settlement has led to displacement of the tennis court slab.

Considering the high cost of the refurbishment, North Sydney Council lobbied the Government for help through the Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program.

North Sydney Mayor Jilly Gibson spoke about the benefits of the upgrade for the community.

“With our growing population and the higher density living this brings, retaining and improving our outdoor spaces and sporting facilities is more vital than ever.

“This $2.1 million grant has truly served up an ace for the future of local sport.”
