About Home Instead Senior Care
Home Instead Senior Care is franchise that originated in the United States and has been adapted to suit the requirements of the Australian home care sector. Jim Little is the owner and director of the Lower North Shore office based in Neutral Bay. Jim has a strong and cohesive office team including his daughter, Pip Little our Case Manager. Pip is a qualified occupational therapist and uses her expertise to provide comprehensive client assessments, develop and deliver care plans, and undertake regular service reviews.
Our office was awarded AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015 accreditation in October 2016. This is a quality management system that helps us to continue to meet the needs of our customers and provide a high standard of service in every aspect of our business.
We take it personally
We get to know you and your family. We learn as much as we can about you including your likes, dislikes and favourite pastimes so we can individually match you with a Home Instead CAREGiver. We believe matching CAREGivers to our clients is key to ensuring the development of positive, caring and trusting relationships.
We begin the relationship building process through CAREGiver introductions. Pip or Jim introduce you and your family to a CAREGiver before in-home services commence. We also carry out quality assurance visits for our clients and follow up with our staff regularly to help maintain and manage these relationships.
Our CAREGivers are kind, professional, caring, compassionate and trustworthy. They are the kind of people we would want to care for our own parents and would be happy to welcome into our own homes. We have a comprehensive recruitment process and invest greatly in each CAREGiver’s professional development and ongoing education and training. This ensures every Home Instead CAREGiver represents our values of compassion, dependability and professionalism.
We employ people with a genuine passion for care, many of which become CAREGivers having cared for an older friend or relative. All CAREGivers undergo a comprehensive three-phase recruitment process, involving 6 reference checks and a criminal background check. Our CAREGivers are local members of the community and are understanding of any challenges and resources available in the area that may help seniors and their families.
Nationally Accredited Training Program
Each CAREGiver undertakes our in-house training program called GRAD – Growth Through Reading and Development. This is a comprehensive, five-phase program that prepares them for their role as a CAREGiver and ensures they understand the many challenges clients and their families may face. This program empowers our CAREGivers to provide the highest-quality care possible. The GRAD program is recognised as prior learning for Certificate III in Individual Support (Home & Community Care), a nationally accredited qualification.
We also have CAREGivers who have specialised training such as advanced dementia care, palliative care and disability care.
