Core Cryotherapy Pty Ltd
Whole body cryotherapy (WBC) is an alternative to cold water immersion or ice packs, exposing individuals to extremely cold dry air (below −150 °C) for 2-3 minutes. To achieve the sub zero temperatures required, liquid nitrogen mist is distributed throughout the chamber and around your body. During exposure, individuals wear minimal clothing, which usually consists of shorts/underwear for males and shorts/underwear. In addition, dry shoes and socks, are worn to reduce the risk of cold-related injury.
Positive results have been found in people with chronic pain from arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain, joint pain and other tissue-related pain. Specifically, studies show that Cryotherapy causes a decrease in pro-inflammatory interleukins and an increase in anti-inflammatory interleukins
