Do you have missing teeth?
People lose teeth all the time through gum disease, decay, old age or when one is knocked out as a result of an accident. Traditional solutions for missing teeth include dentures or with a bridge, however Dental implants are becoming a more popular choice and are ideal for people in good oral health who have lost one or more teeth. Dr Malcolm Ritchie has a specialist degree in dental implant placement.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that a dentist places into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or denture in place. In most cases this artificial root is a titanium screw that is placed surgically in the bone. The screw then fuses biologically with the living bone to form a strong foundation upon which a crown or denture can be placed. Dental implants are much more natural and secure than traditional removable denture plates, especially if these are loose-fitting because of extensive bone loss.
Dr Malcolm Ritchie of Frenchs Forest Dental has extensive experience in fitting dental implants and uses a system called Endopore. Make an appointment with Dr Ritchie today if you are worried about missing teeth.
Dental care for children
Visiting the dentist from an early age will not only help to keep children's teeth in tip-top condition but preventative treatments can also help to reduce the risk of children suffering from complex dental problems in the future. Frenchs Forest Dental aim to make your child's dental experiences as pleasant as possible and recommend regular six monthly check ups from age four. Early crowding and jaw deformation can be corrected if detected and treated early.
