Frenchs Forest Dental - Dental implants
Lost teeth can be replaced with titanium implants, if there is sufficient bone in the upper and lower jaws.
The procedure is not painful, but requires careful planning and preparation to ensure its success.
The implants replicate the roots of the missing teeth, and intergrate into the jaw bone.
The healing process takes 3 to 4 months for the bone to grow onto the implant, (the same time as a broken bone takes to heal) after that time the implant is exposed and a healing cap placed. The healing gap creates a channel from the implant into the mouth and this is allowed to heal. Impressions are then taken and a crown made which is screwed onto the implant.
The whole process takes 5 to 6 months to complete and is all done at Frenchs Forest Dental.
The crowns are Australian made.
Porcelain Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are used to correct stained crooked and chipped teeth with minimal removal of tooth structure.
The veneers are like a false finger nail of very strong but fine porcelain which are bonded to the enamal of the teeth.
The procedure can be performed without local anaesthetic (needles), but usually happy gas is recommended.
The veneers can be made in one week with a prior arrangement and give a fantastic aesthetic result that lasts for a long time provided they are treated with care.
