Join us at the picturesque Bongin Bongin Bay for a day dedicated to celebrating and protecting our magnificent oceans. World Oceans Day 2025 promises to be a memorable occasion, and we invite the entire Northern Beaches community to participate in the festivities.
The day commences at 8:30am, with the opening of registrations and a convenient bag drop area for participants. Fuel up with a caffeine boost from the coffee cart, which will be operating from 8:30am onwards.
A highlight of the event is the Janice Mason Memorial Swim, organised with the support and collaboration of the Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club. At 9:45am, swimmers will be marshalled in preparation for the swim start. The swim itself will kick off at 10:00 am, with groups starting in two-minute intervals. As swimmers complete their invigorating dip (with the early intervals finishing around 10:30am), a comforting cup of hot soup will be available.
Following the swim, we’ll gather for the highly anticipated prizes and presentations at 10:45am, where the swim winners will be announced and celebrated. The official program will conclude at 11:00am.
We are extending an invitation to our local Members of Parliament and VIPs to attend this important community event. .
This event celebrates our ocean, gives an opportunity to connect with our community, to appreciate the beauty of Bongin Bongin Bay, and raise awareness about the vital role our oceans play.
