The North Sydney District Rugby League Football Club (NSDRLFC), also known as the Mighty Bears, was founded in 1908. One of the code’s foundation clubs, NSDRLFC is a feeder club to the Sydney Roosters NRL team.
In the 1950s, the club needed a base, and so the Norths Leagues Club was born. Originally located in a residential property in Neutral Bay, the club quickly outgrew its space and moved to its current site in Abbott Street, Cammeray, in 1964.
Over the past 60 years, Norths has evolved from a rugby league club into a community hub. The club now offers a wide range of services and facilities, including a meeting place, an entertainment destination, a trusted event space, and a centre for leisure, fitness, and recreation. Norths welcomes everyone, young and old.
The club is also passionate about giving back to the community. Norths’ sustainability efforts, volunteer programs, community partnerships, and more help shape a positive future for its members and the broader community.
Although Norths have changed dramatically over the years, the club remains committed to its rich rugby league heritage. Norths proudly hosts a variety of intra-club sporting and special interest groups, and the club’s members continue to be dedicated to the Mighty Bears.
